Keeping Texas Red

Recently I was asked to join the team of bloggers supporting the re-election of Texas Senator John Cornyn. I strongly support the Senator's re-election. I am working diligently to help keep Texas in the Republican column in Washington, D.C., especially in the Senate.

John Cornyn has recently been shown in the Rasmussen Reports as a potentially vulnerable to his Democrat challenger. His challenger, Rick Noriega, is a Texas state legislator. Currently polling by Rasmussen shows Cornyn 47% to Noriega 43%. This is odd, to say the least.

Recently, Rasmussen polling in Louisiana was called into question and had to be amended, even though newspapers continued to use the numbers that were false. The numbers had incumbent Mary Landrieu up by too much over her challenger and gave the impression that her re-election would be smooth sailing. Landrieu is the most endangered for re-election in the Senate.

So, with Cornyn's support in the state of Texas still strong and his campaign coffers quite healthy, showing over 8 million dollars as opposed to Noriega's less than half a million dollars in the bank, these results are suspicious.

Cornyn's support is viewed favorably by 50% of the state's likely voters. Noreiga is at 45% favorable, according to Rasmussen.

This election cycle has proven problematic for pollsters. They have been shown to be inaccurate time and time again. This race will have my attention.

This gave me a SHOCK! I was browsing the Laura Bush piece again so I started reading UP your Cornyn v Noriego article and saw the stats at the end of your piece and thought Texans were saying they'd prefer "THAT Noriego" instead of the one you meant! HOLY COW!
This tight race isn't good news, but compared to thinking Texans would prefer someone like MANUEL Noriega, I'm relieved!! (I thought some liberal paper'd done a poll just to show HOW BAD CORNYN REALLY IS!) GOOD LUCK, TX!!
