Done In By A Stingray

Strange news out of Australia. Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter, has died. He was filming a documentary off the coast of Australia and was stung by a stingray. The sting penetrated his chest, leaving a hole in his left side, and struck his heart.

He leaves a wife, an 8 year old daughter and a 3 year old son behind. A bizarre ending to a bizarre career.

RIP

You beat me to it... I was going to post about this too. We have been fans of Steve for years! I remember 10 years ago before they had their daughter, and then later when they had Bindi. I remember trying to figure out (on his show) if he was saying they named her Mindy or Wendi... never thinking it was Bindi! LOL.

Steve was crazy and fun... but you just knew by watching him that he was, indeed, going to die the way he lived. Still - he went out doing what he loved best.

You have to recognize that he loved life and had soooooo much energy. I feel so badly for his wife and children. Such a freak accident.

Steve was surely one of a kind. We'll miss his enthusiasm and his love of life.
