Rules of Life

Because wordnerd is my girl in south Louisiana, I will give you some rules of life, according to moi:

1. To thine own self be true. No guilt, baby.

2. Don't give up. Even when you feel like a lone voice in the wilderness.

3. A daily fix of chocolate will keep your moods a little more even.

4. Vote. Every election. No excuses.

5. Read. Everything.

6. Keep up with current events. It's really NOT all about you.

7. When it comes to politics, be partisan. Partisanship is good. That's why we have more than one party. Differences matter.

8. Character matters. Expect the best of others. And yourself. Each day is a fresh start.

9. If you don't love animals, I want nothing to do with you.

10. Listen more. It's the best way to learn.

That's it now. I'm not tagging anyone this time. Feel free to jump in though. It's good to know where others are coming from.

One of the most dishonest things about the MSM is its pretense of objectivity. They fool themselves and fool their readership by feigning detachment and non-partisanship in reporting the straight news.

Good words, Karen. Thanks for sharing.

Terrific advice. I might add "defend the defenseless" (i.e., children, elderly, animals)

And "mentor someone else" as it is usually very rewarding. (much like you are doing to wordnerd) :)

I wish I was better at Rule #1. *sigh* I'm working at it.

I've written some of my own at my place.

I can't believe no one has yet thought, "Adopt a Hermit," to be important. Kind of disturbing.

These rules are fit to live by.
I love chocolate...and bunnies, all of those little creatures. Didn't know if you knew that.

I do very much like these.

I wish we were lunch/coffee/bookstore buddies. Drat geographical distances!

Hi, Karen,
Thanks for sharing those. And thanks for stopping by. I always come here even though I don't always comment. I love reading your take on the day's events and others comments who are so much better at commenting than I am.

Keep up the good work.

EXCELLENT rules. I knew you'd show me up! (Sorry I'm just now commenting -- there was only dark space where the comments used to be this morning -- much like the mind of a liberal...HEE!!!)

And Paul? If one adopts a hermit, then is he still a hermit? Discuss.
