Just As Predicted

I knew it was just a matter of time for the predictable reaction to come. Today on cable news the story of the arrest of the two 'students' from Florida near the base in South Carolina is making a splash. And, along with the photos of the alleged wrongdoers, was a brief statement from a father of one of the two. He cries 'ethnic discrimination' is what the trouble is, that the Middle Eastern people are being blamed for everything. My response to him? When blue eyed blonde Lutherans from Sweden are consistently arrested trying to do harm to us, then we'll reconsider the whole profiling thing, ok?

These guys were stopped for a traffic violation. Found in the car's trunk were pipe bombs. The father said they were just going on a college guy kind of trip and enjoyed fireworks. Ok then.

Profiling is a perfectly legitimate investigative tool. It works. Before the age of uber political correctness, the hands of law enforcement, or our military for that matter, were not tied for fear of law suits, which is exactly what the criminals and terrorists rely on today. Today in the news reports, especially those on local television, the news readers deliberately do not even describe the criminal's skin color. How is the ordinary citizen to report a suspected criminal on the loose without all the information?

So, two IslamoFacists and one father are insulted by alleged ethnic discrimination? I say congrats to the alert police officer and to the judge who set bail and denied release of the prisoners until approval came from the federal level. Seems the question of legality of being here in the first place is in play.

I thought of you as soon as I saw the accusations of racism and profiling begin.
How is it these apologists and defenders of the non-rational keep a straight face? I couldn't if I were arguing such ridiculous points and yet there they are, on the news and talk shows saying the two, American-loving, middle eastern boys just liked playing with "fireworks." Never mind just one of their pipe bombs could kill a lot of infidels. The thought never crossed their minds and we are racist for thinking it had.

Only the fact that we don't go to sleep thinking our house may be blown up each night keeps the stupidity going on. The Israelis know, the Iraqis even know.

Hi Karen: Nice post - I'm fully in favor of ethnic profiling. I mean, duh, who's doing all of the bombing? Not little old ladies taking home their groceries from the market by subway, etc.?

We're back from our trip to Washington! You're right - there's too much to see in one visit. More details later. Have a great week!

You predicted it...
I admit that profiling is irritating when you are singled out from other people especially at airports but I feel that it is a small inconvenience to pay when the people are doing their duty.
Especially if your luggage contains bomb parapharnelia !
They are crazy to cry fould after all that wa found.I think any rights should be suspended from people like this...like the right to sue etc

Well we did know it was coming. Any word from CAIR yet? At some point that group of mouth breathers will jump in, threatening lawsuits etc.

They can all bite me.

When I was a cop we used to get that "you're just stopping me cause I'm black" crap all the time. It wears very thin. If the description of a criminal is a black male, it's just a little counterproductive to stop white males. The moral of this story is if you are going to blow up infidels make sure you obey the traffic laws. I've often said "Thank God the cops are smarter that the criminals." As for the idiots that protest for the rights of these jerks, thankfully they are in the minority. They may be loud, but the common sense people outnumber them.

I hadn't heard where these boys were from until I got home and read the paper. They just happen to be from the University of So*th Florida where Sami Al Ar*yan (sp?) was professor for a long time. He was finally fired and tried for having connections to all sorts of illegal things.
