Why The Shrillness From Obama Supporters?

With Barack Obama, the Chosen One of the media and every reporting organization in the world, up in the polls, why are the Democrats and their cohorts so shrill and desperate sounding this close to the election? With a tough economic landscape and increased voter registrations - whether legitimate or not - and all the neglect of the press to do any real investigative reporting on the life and times of Obama, he should coast on into the White House, no problem. He's got the schtick down and the masses have swallowed it and asked for more. He is described as smooth. Articulate (ah, ah, um). Intelligent (why hasn't he released his college records and thesis?). Why hasn't he acknowledged the two years at Occidential College before he hit the Ivy League?

On the entertainment front, a release of a new DVD version of "Hanoi Hilton", a film from 1987, has been quietly moved back. Why? There is an interview with John McCain, a POW there during the Vietnam War, and "the studio is concerned that any pre-election showing might embroil the project in electoral politics." That from the Houston Chronicle. Never mind that Warner Brothers, the studio involved, has been a big financial supporter of the Obama campaign. No, nothing political here. Just move along. Originally, the spokeswoman for Warner Brothers said the studio didn't want to violate any campaign finance laws. "After conferring with company lawyers, however, she said Warner was concerned not about legal violation but possible accusations that it was electioneering. "It could have gotten some objections," she said."

Yeah, sure. "Daniel P. Tokaji, an associate professor at the Ohio State University laws school, said promotional showings of the McCain interview would present no obvious legal issue. "I don't immediately see what law they would violate," said Tokaji, who specializes in election law." The writer of the film and director, Lionel Chetwynd, is conservative and wanted to promote the DVD among veteran groups and on Web sites. He was to screen it for the Creative Artists Agency, too. But that's all halted.

What about Oliver Stone's latest hit piece movie on President Bush? No problem there. It's a potential Academy Award nominee to hear the latest raves from the Hollyweird set.

Fidel Castro says America is a racist country and it "is a miracle that the Democratic candidate hasn't suffered the same luck as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and others who harbored dreams of equality and justice." Castro spouted that bit of wisdom Saturday, insisting there is "profound" racism in America. Who's he been talking to, John Lewis?

Rep. John Murtha, D-PA, said that western Pennsylvania is a racist part of the state. Unbelievable. Then he had to walk that bit of insanity back. You'll remember he is the same person who stated that our Marines were killing innocent Iraqis in cold blood. Also, he's the one who said John McCain is too old to be President, though Murtha is several years older and up for re-election himself. Quite a piece of work.

And, for those suffering from liberal white guilt and voting for Obama simply for the color of his bi-racial skin, Jesse Jackson said it won't be enough to settle old grievances of blacks linked to the memories of slavery. So, there's that. Jackson has no intention of letting that canard go, or of giving up his job of shaking down corporations for his own monetary gain.

In Evian France, speaking at the first World Policy Forum, Jackson said,"Obama is about change." "And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it." In a write-up in the New York Post, Jackson said that while Obama is not a descendant of slaves, "you don't need to be a descendant to slaves to experience the oppression, the suffocating injustice and the ugly racism that exists in our society." "Obama experienced the same environment as all American blacks did. It was nonsense to suggest that he was somehow not black enough to feel the pain."

Jackson, famous for a remark years ago with the term "hymie-town" in it, spoke of lessening the importance of Israel's better interests in terms of dealing with the Israel-Palestine conflict. "Barack will change that", because as long as the Palestinians haven't seen justice, the Middle East will "remain a source of danger to us all." "Barack is determined to repair our relations with the world of Islam and Muslims. Thanks to his background and ecumenical approach, he knows how Muslims feel while remaining committed to his own faith." So, the Chosen One feels their pain and no one else can. So, a bi-racial man raised in Honolulu and Indonesia, benefiting from educations at the most exclusive of schools - from the most expensive Prep school in Hawaii, then Occidential College, then Columbia and Harvard; was taken under the tutelage of Jackson and Daley in Chicago; was brought into a black liberation church by his angry girlfriend, then wife; and is the darling of the far left is just a man of the world.

McCain campaign headquarters in South Carolina, Ohio and other spots have been vandalized by Obama robots. Whoopi Goldberg asks John McCain on a morning chat show if he'll re-institute slavery. Claims of rowdy rally-goers yelling nasty words at McCain events, many of them now discredited, are written of as the gospel by the slobbering press. Some outright lies of convenience. And, those open minded progressives - all about womens rights - wearing t-shirts calling Sarah Palin a c---. How evolved of them. Womens rights, just not for conservative women who succeed. And, now that the story of Joe the plumber brings a face of a regular guy to the outrageous Obama tax plan scheme, Joe is vilified by the left. I thought the left was all about the regular working guy. Oh.

Obama is encouraging the far left to give themselves this low mark in history. However, they succeed on their own.

Joe The Plumber Owned The Night

Joe the plumber was the man of the night. During the third and last debate for the Presidential candidates Joe was mentioned frequently. Joe Wurzelbacker shook hands with Senator Obama after a stump speech in Toledo Sunday. On the rope line, Wurzelbacker asked Obama about his tax plan. "Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it", Joe asked.

Obama said, yes, it would. Joe went on to explain he had worked all his adult life to finally be in position to buy his company and get his slice of the American dream. Then, Obama went on to tell the truth, finally, about his tax plan. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for the folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." Obama the socialist surfaces among the regular folks.

Obama continues on with his pie in the sky nonsense that government will create jobs, just give him more tax money. Never mind that this scam has never worked. And where exactly does he get is numbers when he decides the cut off point on who is 'rich' and who is not?

Obama's claim that he will reduce taxes on 95% of Americans has been discredited across the board but he continues on with it. He also expects to cut checks to those who don't even pay taxes in the form of a rebate from the government. This makes no sense at all.

Where do his financial advisers get off deciding $250, 000 makes a 'rich' person? It's all relative, isn't it? If you live in a large city, you know that $250,000 doesn't make you rich at all. It is typical class warfare from the candidate of change. Economics from the bottom up has never worked. People at the bottom do not create jobs. Government does not create jobs, except if you work for the government. The single strongest engine in our economy is that of small business.

Small business organizations have come out to support Senator McCain. Why? Because Senator McCain understands how the economy is grown. His wife is a business owner and meets a payroll while employing a large amount of people. Do Senator Obama or his wife have that history? No. They live off government jobs.

Senator Obama couldn't define a capital gains tax from the first debate. He still doesn't get it. He doesn't understand the percentage rate of which small business is taxed. And, he wants to demand the health insurance coverage plan chosen by you for your employees, or else he will slap a fine on you. Socialism.

Joe the plumber gets it. Joe the plumber is out there every day trying to make a living and buy a business. Joe the plumber would like to create jobs and support his own family, without the interference of the federal government. That is the American dream. That is what our freedom is all about.

The best line from Senator McCain? "Senator Obama, I'm not President Bush." That has been the campaign talking point from the beginning. The far left, for whom Obama does his bidding, has vilified President Bush for 8 years now. To them, Bush is Lucifer himself. So, Obama is such a shallow thinker that he lumps McCain in with Bush. Problem is, everyone knows McCain is quite different from Bush. Obama knows it. He just doesn't care. Mr. Change will say anything to get elected. That's the Chicago way.

Obama will just keep whistling through those teeth, smiling, putting on the faux folksy accented speech. Quite the actor, that one.

Endorsements for Senator John Cornyn

This is the time in the election cycle when that newspapers roll out endorsements. Senator John Cornyn has been endorsed by several Texas newspapers. The largest newspaper so far is the Dallas Morning News.

From the endorsement: "Political conditions would seem ripe for Mr. Cornyn's opponent, Democratic state Rep. Richard J. "Rick" Noriega, to exploit Mr. Bush's vulnerabilities and make the most of his own experience in military affairs and border issues. He hasn't. Instead, Mr. Noreiga, 50, conveys obstructionist tendencies on key issues while offering unconvincing solutions to some of the nation's most pressing problems. Although the Houstonian serves admirably as both a state representative and lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard, he leaves us unconvinced that he's ready for a role on the national stage."

"By contrast, Mr. Cornyn, 56, is senatorial in every respect: congenial, deliberative and authoritative on topics from immigration reform to the war in Iraq or the nation's ongoing financial crisis. That's why this newspaper recommends Mr. Cornyn for another six years in Washington."

Yesterday brought an endorsement from the Texas Medical Association, an organization that earlier this year decided not to endorse the senator over his procedural vote decision on Medicare legislation. Cornyn, listening to Texas physicians, voted for the bill and then voted to override President Bush veto. "This gave medicine breathing room to work or a permanent Medicare payment fix before December 2009, and Senator Cornyn is campaigning on that issue," the TMA committee said". OBAMA/BIDEN ECONOMIC PLAN A FRAUD
The media and candidates assure us that the number one issue in the minds of prospective voters is the economy, so this week we will address that issue; and we’ll do it clearly and concisely. Two concerns right off the mark: (1) If Americans are nervous about the economy, why on earth would they turn to a Democrat for help? (2) If Americans are nervous about the economy, what does the Obama/Biden Economic Plan offer that will improve our lives?
We don’t want to waste time on adolescent bantering, but the truth is that our present economic conditions are a direct product from the seeds of eight-years of Bill Clinton and Republicans in Congress who violated their contract with America . And now let’s get down the brass tacks.

You live a busy life; you don’t have the time, and probably not the inclination to spend hours sifting through, and thinking about the Obama/Biden Economic Plan. Neither, apparently, do the authors of that website; after considering tens of thousands of words of gibberish, what we found are volumes of proposals, policies, programs, and promises. Less than 10% of these ideas come close to responsible or prudent. This is apparent at the very beginning. According to Mr. Obama:
Wages are Stagnant as Prices Rise: While wages remain flat, the costs of basic necessities are increasing. The cost of in-state college tuition has grown 35 percent over the past five years. Health care costs have risen four times faster than wages over the past six years. And the personal savings rate is now the lowest it's been since the Great Depression.Tax Cuts for Wealthy Instead of Middle Class: The Bush tax cuts give those who earn over $1 million dollars a tax cut nearly 160 times greater than that received by middle-income Americans. At the same time, this administration has refused to tackle health care, education and housing in a manner that benefits the middle class.

In laying his predicate, Obama wastes our time with what we already know. In 1954, a loaf of bread cost five-cents. In fifty-five years, prices have increased; but I also know that back then, my father earned $60 a month; when he retired in 1972, he earned over $3,000 a month. Next, Obama typically engages in Marxist class-warfare, a classic saw within the Democratic platform. The facts tell us something else.

According to U. S. Treasury Department, taxpayers in the top half of income paid 96% of the total income tax revenues. In future years, the percentage of income tax paid by middle class citizens who fall into the bottom half of income earnings will be less than 4% of the total. That presumes, of course, that Barack Obama is defeated in this election. So it would seem that Mr. Obama is being dishonest. If the American people elect Barack Obama to the presidency, taxes will increase across the board. And the proof of this is that Barack Obama cannot increase government spending AND provide meaningful tax cuts to “95% of the American workers.”
Barack Obama claims that he has a plan to jumpstart the economy — and he plans to do this by giving “something back” to Americans. At the very outset, he wants to tax oil company profits to give American families a $1,000 rebate. Now if you lack critical thinking skills, this sounds great. History tells us that government does not exist to give us money; in fact, the opposite is true. Every “benefit” costs the American worker money. But now consider, if these funds come from the “greedy oil companies,” what is the likely consequence to the cost of gasoline and heating oil? By the end of the first year, Obama’s rebate checks might offer consumers a “break even” scenario.

He also wants to give $50 billion to state and local governments so that each of us can have access to health, education, housing, heating fuels, as an offset to property taxes. Forget that federal grants do not offset state, county, or municipal taxes, but do think about this: his allocation of one-billion dollars to each state, if distributed on a per-capita basis, is a laughable benefit. In California , the per-capita share of one-billion dollars is $27.35, and in Pennsylvania , it comes to $80.43. Once again, Barack Obama is following the example of Bill Clinton in 1991 — promises made, promises broken.

Obama wants to provide “a tax cut” to middle class Americans. This is what he wrote:
Provide a Tax Cut for Working Families: Obama and Biden will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama and Biden will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The "Making Work Pay" tax credit will eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.
Mr. Obama is not going to cut taxes. It is impossible to cut taxes for 150 million Americans — half of our entire population, when he in fact intends to increase spending by $3 Trillion. Our grandfather might have noted, “This dog won’t hunt.” Additionally, ten million Americans is roughly three percent of our population, so at this point we must ask, “Who benefits most from the Obama plan?” The answer is, “Not the average American.”

Barack Obama and Joe Bide believe foreign trade should strengthen the American economy; it should create more jobs for Americans. Obama vows to “fight for fair trade,” which means that he will erect trade barriers that will make imported goods more expensive, and domestic made goods less appealing to foreign consumers. How does this help “jump-start” the economy? The answer is it doesn’t. Two issues come to mind. The first is, think about an increase in the retail cost of Chinese-made “junk” you find on the shelves at Wal-Mart. Second, what will happen to American jobs when foreign buyers no longer purchase domestic-made goods? Does Obama have a realistic goal for our economy? No, he does not.

Several years ago, a thoughtful schoolteacher noted the following: when her school district gave teachers a raise, there was a direct and immediate increase in the cost of food, utilities, clothing, fuel, and medical and dental costs. She noted that if her new salary was a modest increase of four percent, the cumulative weight of increased costs across the board resulted in an income loss. Now, Barack Obama wants to “reward” companies with tax breaks when they pay their workers a “decent wage.” We don’t know what “decent wage” means, but we do understand Barack Obama’s very first statement: “Wages are stagnant as prices rise.” We also understand that Obama does not have a solution to a problem he identified as a national priority.
To bolster manufacturing, Barack Obama will create an “Advanced Manufacturing Fund.” The first intelligent question is, “What is that?” The next question should be, “Where will the money come from?” The answer to the first question is it is another costly government bureaucracy. Another government program, another layer of inefficiency added to the federal government. The answer to the second question is simple: it will come from the pockets of the American worker. Is this what Americans want? Does anyone honestly trust Obama with a flagging American economy?

None of the foregoing should surprise; these are economic programs we can expect from an avowed socialist. The question really is, having won the cold war, do the American people now want to put a Marxist in the White House? We should make no mistake: Barack Obama has been a radical leftist for at least twenty years. These programs may well accomodate his plan for America, but we don't think they pass the odor test; they are not a proper fit for America.
There was a time when this country had a surplus budget. Bill Clinton was in the White House, but both houses of Congress were controlled by Republicans. An overwhelmingly Democratic Congress demands a Republican in the White House, and we need more conservative representation in Congress.

So once again, we urge you to vote NO Obama, and NO to socialist members of Congress seeking reelection.

Shame On You, John Lewis

"During another period, in the not-too-distant past, there was a governor of a state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their Constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama." That from Rep. John Lewis, a Democrat from Georgia. He was speaking about another Democrat from days past.

Up until this over the top and truly vile statement was lobbed from Rep. Lewis, he was worthy of his honorable reputation as a civil rights leader. He was beaten within an inch of his life as he marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. This stellar reputation is now gone. And, he deserves no more respect from those truly concerned for basic American rights.

You may remember it was John McCain at a previous forum who named John Lewis as one of the top three people to whom he would turn for advice in his new administration. He spoke of Lewis' history as an advocate of civil rights for all.

As Rep. Lewis accuses the John McCain campaign of racism, Barack Obama's campaign surrogates are in full tilt suppression of free speech mode. Because some incidents have occurred at McCain campaign rallies, those supporting Obama now feel entitled to throw whatever charges they feel at the McCain campaign. The charge of racism is their favorite. These are very savvy politicians, especially Obama's group from Chicago, and they know that the race card will stop discussions.

John McCain is not a racist and of all the descriptions of the man, that has never been one. He and his wife, Cindy, have an adopted daughter of color. What is the matter with these foul mouthed leftists? And, by invoking the memory of the four little girls who died in the Birmingham church bombing, Lewis speaks of friends of Condi Rice. Secretary Rice grew up with those little girls. Has Lewis ever come to the aid of Secretary Rice in a discussion? No. Wonder why that is? Has he ever spoken up when conservative black leaders have been ridiculed and mocked from the left, simply for being black and conservative? No.

Senator McCain doesn't even bring into the mix the disgusting judgement of Senator Obama to join the church of Jeremiah Wright in Chicago, at the urging of his then girlfriend, Michelle, now his wife. This church preaches racism and hate towards the United States on the premise of continuing victimization of minorities. And, we are to believe that Obama never heard any of this nastiness in the entire 20 years of his membership in this church? What a crock. He'd still be a member and calling Wright his spiritual mentor if those videos - sold in the church store - hadn't been shown on cable news stations.

Obama's wife was the very first to bring race into the political season. She said Obama could get shot in Chicago while going to the gas station just because he's a black man. She is one nasty mouthed woman hiding behind the Oprahized smile now.

"Racism is treating people differently and invidiously on the basis of race. Had any white presidential candidate had a close 20-year association with a white preacher overtly spreading race hatred from the pulpit, that candidate would have been not just universally denounced and deemed unfit for office but written out of polite society entirely." That from Charles Krauthammer.

The current exposes on ACORN, a corrupt political organization for whom Obama worked and went to court for as their attorney in Chicago, are called racist. Yet, whenever any leader of the organization is interviewed, the spokesperson is white. The national spokesperson is white. It is not racist to protest voter registration fraud. ACORN volunteers, who aren't volunteers as they are paid employees, were trained by Obama in Chicago and trained to 'get in their face' when questioned. How progressive.

The ACORN investigations, now numbering 14, are all in potential swing states this election. How interesting. I guess the Obama campaign calls that a coincidence.

Calling into question the judgement and values of a political candidate is not racism. Obama has a history of very poor choices of friendships and mentors. He has gravitated to the most extreme of personalities. He embraces the Marxist principles of his mother, who raised him with Marxist political philosophy. He is on record as supporting his mother's political views.

John McCain has asked local and state GOP organizations to pull insensitive ads from television. Obama has not done so on the ads against McCain. When it is a choice of going on the high road as opposed to the low road, Obama travels the low road. He went into a real estate deal with his political fundraising sponsor, Tony Rezko, now a convicted felon. In Chicago. He and Michelle wanted that million dollar mansion in Hyde Park.

John McCain tamps down nasty remarks at his rallies. Obama has not. McCain corrects misinformed supporters. Obama does not. McCain calls for respectful disagreement. Obama tells his flock to 'get in their face.'

The civil right of free speech for all? The Obama campaign uses the thug tactic of shutting down the opposition. Michael Barone wrote an interesting article on this Chicago politician's style. In "Government by Thugocracy" at IBDeditorials, he pulls together instances throughout this campaign where Obama supporters have tried to shut down call-in talk radio shows, the re-surfacing of the Fairness Doctrine, demanded criminal prosecution of ad they claim are false, NBC took down a video of SNL's spoof of Democrats credited with the current financial collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack, and Democrat leadership support of "card check" legislation that even George McGovern is running commercials against. Barone says the legislation "would abolish secret ballot elections in determining whether employees are represented by unions. The unions' strategy is obvious: Send a few thugs over to employees' homes -- we know where you live -- and get them to sign cards that will trigger a union victory without giving employers a chance to be heard." Nice.

Barone concludes :"In this campaign, we have seen the coming of the Obama thugocracy, suppressing free speech, and we may see it flourishing in the four or eight years ahead."

Shame on you, Representative Lewis. You have allowed a bi-racial candidate for the highest office in the land to drag you down into the gutter with him. You had the opportunity to elevate the discussion. You chose the low road. Just like your candidate. Is that what you marched for?

MLK said judge not on the color of skin but on the content of character. Words to remember.

Cornyn Calls For Recruiter Suicide Investigation

Last week, Senator John Cornyn called for an independent probe into recent Houston-area suicides of Army recruiters. According to the Houston Chronicle, "The Houston battalion has lost five recruiters to suicide since 2001, including two in the past two months."

Senator Cornyn is a member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services. He sent a letter last week to Pete Geren, Secretary of the Army.

Allegations have surfaced claiming the chain of command interfered with official investigations as a cover up of a "toxic leadership climate and low morale." In his letter to Pete Geren, Cornyn wrote of claims of numerous Army recruiters and their families claiming to have "direct knowledge of serious problems within the Houston battalion."

"These allegations, if true, point to criminal misconduct punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice," Cornyn wrote. "In addition, such actions would absolutely undermine and call into question the findings and conclusions of these investigations. Should these claims be substantiated, the relevant individuals must be held fully accountable for their misconduct and the resultant problems with the Houston Recruiting Battalion."

Most disturbing to Senator Cornyn are the work schedules of the recruiters. Reports are of long hours and seven-day work weeks which have diminished family time and strained marriages. Plus, Cornyn cites a "cultural disconnect" between the two types of recruiters. Detailed recruiters are assigned to recruiting duty, and permanent recruiters are choosing recruiting as their military career speciality. Cornyn points to the fact that permanent recruiters are non-deployable so perhaps they are unable to relate to detailed recruiters under their command. Many of the detailed recruiters have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Cornyn suggests "the Army reconsider its policy of granting permanent recruiters non-deployable status.

The last three suicides of this battalion have occurred within the past year and a half.

From the Houston Chronicle: "For the first time since the Vietnam War, the Army's suicide rate is on track to exceed that of the general U.S. population, Army officials say." "Amid intensive efforts to reduce overall suicides, however, little attention has so far been paid to the unique pressures facing returning veterans assigned to high-stress noncombat jobs like recruiting."

Senator Cornyn asked Pete Geren to appoint "an outside investigator to review the allegations and requested a copy of the report."

Some Truth About This Election

We are seeing some disturbing events in this political race. A part of me blames the introduction of Chicago style politics into the mix. A lot of it has to do with uncertainty and anger at where we are as a country today. It is ugly out there.

While it is easy to blame the side for whom you do not cheer, it is the fault of both sides. I think fear has brought us to a bad place. I actually saw a person, whom at one time I considered a friendly ally in the blogosphere, say 'God bless Betty' White for calling Sarah Palin a bitch on a late night television show. When the left side of the aisle tsk-tsks the right side of the aisle for being 'angry' or 'mean' about the other side, just think about the level of discord that is out there now. It is out there now from people who, under regular circumstances, would be looked upon as stable, logical thinkers.

It's out the window. We have Jimmy Carter, the worst American President in modern history, out there claiming the current financial crisis is all President Bush's fault. Jimmy Carter? My husband and I bought out first home with 16% interest, thanks to his economic policies. Is this the time to take shots at the President for gratuitous sound bites. Added to the stack of other inane comments by Carter during the Bush presidency, many hateful ones said overseas as we are at war, and Carter does his legacy no favors.

We have the charge of racism lobbed anytime someone wants to end a discussion, change a subject of conversation. It is not racist to support Senator McCain. It is an ideological choice. It was Senator Obama's wife, Michelle, of whom we are told is the campaign "closer", who first brought the race card to the contest, back in primary season. She is on the campaign trail saying ugly statements, with a sincere looking smile, and it is heralded by the press as refreshing truth-telling. It's all ok because Obama is the chosen candidate of the press. What passes for journalism in this country as reached all time lows, if that was even possible.

Just as when Bill Clinton ran against Bob Dole in 1996, we were told character and judgement are not really an issue. Remember when Dole said, "where's the outrage?". Dole couldn't believe he was losing the race to a morally bankrupt man with questionable judgement and the voters didn't mind, as long as the stock market was humming along. Our country was under attack but it was mostly overseas so no one was alarmed, if it wasn't a loved one of theirs that was killed in an embassy attack or on the ground in a foreign country. Or on water.

Clinton, too, was the age of Obama and yet his resume was different. Clinton had been Attorney General of is state. He had been a multi-term governor. I don't recall Democrats pooh-poohing his experience governing a 'small state' when he ran, as they belittle Governor Palin's experience of a quite large, energy producing state today. Interesting, right?

Peggy Noonan has an excellent column in The Wall Street Journal. While the left likes to point out when Noonan, a conservative, criticizes the McCain campaign, will they take seriously her points about the Obama campaign, too?

Peggy Noonan said, "Both campaigns, in the closing stretch, seem not fully worthy of the moment." It will be easy for either side to point now and say, aha! Peggy Noonan said your side isn't worthy of the task!" That's not what she said at all. She said this has all degenerated into something that is not productive to the challenges the next president will face.

Think of the mess the next president will deal with. Economic crisis, a congress so bitter and divided that the American public no longer listens to them, foreign leaders looking for a glimmer of security in our leadership of the tough issues, those wishing us harm are emboldened by our discord. There is not enough money in the world to entice most of us to step into that job.

As Noonan points out, one advantage McCain has is that congress is controlled by the Democrats and will still be after the election, possibly with even a larger majority. Americans prefer divided control in Washington. Voters may realize an Obama presidency will mean complete dominance by Democrats and decide that is not the answer. Especially since the Democrat controlled congress, at the helm since 2006, are at all time lows in polling.

Soon we will be at voting polling locations, casting our votes. Our country remains strong in fortitude, the American spirit is not lost. With victory of either presidential candidate, our nation will survive. The world will not end for any of us.

Obama's History is Prologue

It's interesting, isn't it, that John McCain this afternoon asked for the crowds to be respectful to Barack Obama. John McCain has, in previous months, asked state campaign ads to be taken off the air for offending the Obama campaign.

What is Obama so upset about? McCain, a true gentleman among the nastiness of politics, has refrained from pointing out the utter lack of judgement on the part of Obama in his choice of past and present associates. Each time Obama has made a choice in his associations, to further his political career, he has chosen the most radical of choices.

Obama chose Michelle Obama as his girlfriend who introduced him into Chicago politics. She brought him into her church - the church of black liberation under the leadership of Jeremiah Wright. She grew up as best friends with Jesse Jackson's daughter and is close to his family. Or, she was. Her father worked for the city and was involved in precinct politics.

He chose 'community organizing' to become known in his surroundings. While doing that he linked up with ACORN - not the NAACP, or the Urban League which are both liberal black organizations working within communities. He chose ACORN and went on to be a lawyer for them and trained young people to do get out the vote drives. We know this is a corrupt organization. He went on to be involved with William Ayers and the Annenberg Project. Obama treated ACORN to Annenberg funds and Ayers has been a friend and political supporter since those days, despite being described as 'just someone in my neighborhood'.

Obama went on to state politics. He was known for his frequent votes of 'present' rather than take a stand on a vote. He provided funding to the likes of Tony Rezko, now a convicted felon, and went into a real estate deal with him to buy a million dollar mansion in Hyde Park.

As he served, the next step was always in sight. He has a history of being elected to one office and beginning to campaign for the next step up. He became quite good at the practice of eliminating serious threats by taking opponents to court to get them off a ballot. Chicago style.

As a U.S. Senator, he was an enthusiastic earmarker. His wife received a salary raise at her job with the Univ of Illinois medical center - more than doubling her salary after his election. Interesting. Then he earmarked over a million dollars to her place of employment. He provided an earmark for her uncle, too, for his non-profit in Chicago.

Obama calls himself the post racial, post partisan candidate. There is no history of this. Every time his record is questioned or his relationships with others are questioned, the questioner is called racist. Not voting for Obama? You must be a racist. He has no history for reaching across the aisle in the U.S. Senate. He has never gone against his party.

When has he ever called for an ad to be taken down against an opponent? He willingly joined right in with the group calling General Petraeus, General Betrayus, because he is beholden to the socialist likes of MoveOn. Again, he chose supporters like Soros and that bunch. He brags of union support and teachers now campaign in schools for Obama. Nice.

Where are the friends and associates who stand with him? Other than the sitting senator in the state in which he is campaigning, who is on stage standing up for him? No one. Doesn't that say something? Old classmates from even his college days say they don't remember him or that he exaggerates his resume. They aren't singing his praises.

Obama never called on those ads against McCain to come down when they ridiculed his war injuries, his age, his 'out of touchness', his wife's financial success, his fighter pilot career, his family smears. But, even look at his family, as he parades them out before he said he wouldn't do that anymore, and he claims family is off limit. I guess it's just his family. His wife, the Closer. The Closer who brought race into this election season herself. She's a nasty one, that's for certain.

You would think as he is up in the polls, he would be a bit more honorable. Instead he claims the McCain campaign is going negative. Laughable. Telling the truth is only negative in Obama's case because of his past choices. That is his own history. That is his truth. He has been very busy throwing all his past and present associates under the bus to get to this point in his political career. Even his own grandmother, the woman who raised him. The white woman who was fodder for his speech on race. What a guy.

Senator McCain is trying to lighten the tone of the campaign in these waning days. Obama is still going full force.

Obama says history is prologue. True that.

Cornyn-Noriega Debate in Houston

Yesterday I was extended an invitation from the Senatorial re-election campaign of Senator John Cornyn to greet the Senator before the debate last night and then watch the debate with supporters. I had to decline but I watched the debate on television.

The debate participants were Senator Cornyn, state Rep. Rick Noreiga and the Libertarian candidate. The third party candidate was an interesting woman but with no name recognition, no money behind her and only polling at 3% in recent polls, she really isn't a viable candidate this time around.

The League of Women Voters sponsored the debate on the local PBS Houston affiliate. The three questioners were made up of one liberal Democrat tv/radio personality, one conservative Republican tv/radio personality, and one political newspaper journalist who leans liberal in his writing. So, the balance represented was par for the course.

What struck me was a complete void of ideas coming from Rep. Noriega. His performance was one of attacking Senator Cornyn's record with stand Democrat talking points. Maybe the DNC wrote his script. He did the standard 'failed policies' of the current administration lines, though never specific in his accusations.

Noriega said he wouldn't have voted for the economic rescue package. But, he offered no solutions in its place. He was an anti-war mouthpiece for the defeatist left. He spoke of 'regaining trust of the international community.' All nonsense. Again, all standard stuff.

Senator Cornyn pointed out he supported the rescue legislation, with more accountability measures put in, and that just throwing rocks with no answers is not a show of leadership. He spoke of his support of the bi-partisan Detainee Treatment Act.

Noriega did nothing to inspire or to point to any leadership qualities. He brought criticism without alternatives. He brought the same old talking points we have heard throughout the past eight years. He did nothing to convince the audience that he would support changing the partisan tone in Washington. He would only add to the problems.

The most recent polling shows Senator Cornyn with a 15% lead in the race. This debate showed why that is happening. Rep. Noriega is much like the top of the Democrat ticket - not ready for prime time.

Following Obama's Campaign Contributions

The Obama campaign gave money to ACORN for activities other than what they said. Now the Obama campaign says they do their own voter registration. Why do you question their honesty? As Obama himself said, history is prologue. You can take that to the bank, my friends.

Barack Obama has quite a history with ACORN. Currently, ACORN is under investigation in ten states considered swing states in this Presidential election. Ten states. ACORN is not known to register Republican in their 'voter registration drives.' The latest popular tactic is to round up homeless people and take them to the polls.

ACORN does it Chicago style. The most common complaints are registering to use the names or social security numbers of dead people and just making up names whole cloth. Recently the whole starting line up of the Dallas Cowboys was registered in Colorado.

Vote early. Vote often. 75% of the more than 1 million 'voters' registered by ACORN in this cycle are black. Interesting.

In Indianapolis, Indiana - Marion county, 105% of the population is registered to vote now. ACORN has made a push there in recent weeks, as Indiana may prove to be a swing state.

Senator John Thune (R-SD) is now calling for all taxpayer monies to be ended to ACORN. For instance, last summer legislation was pushed through to 'rescue' mortgage holders, authorizing the Federal government to step in if Fannie/Freddie needed help with the 'affordable' housing market. ACORN was cut into that sweet pie.

There is an interesting article here. It speaks to the overseas contributions made to the Obama campaign. The total, according to this article, is $3.3 million. This doesn't include, however, donors who have donated less than $200 or how itemize contributions. Half of Obama's $455 million total contributions are unitemized. The campaign doesn't identify those donors.

Melanie Phillips, a very smart writer in London, did a bit about ACORN in the Spectator, in the UK. Read it here. She connects Obama's history with ACORN and his Chicago ACORN longtime director. And, of this longtime ACORN director's involvement in the subprime mortgage fiasco.

While more than $190 million in Obama campaign contributions are being scrutinized for being unidentified and for foreign connections, it is important to know who is paying his way into office. According to Investor's Business Daily, two Palestinian brothers from Gaza purchased $33,000 worth of campaign t-shirts and listed "Ga." as their address. Naturally the campaign thought that abbreviation meant the state of Georgia. T-shirt purchases are considered campaign contributions.

Even though independent campaign finance watchdog organizations have asked for all donors to be listed, even those contributing less than $200, the Obama campaign has refused to date.

CBS News discovered an additional $7,722 in falsely identified donations. While Obama seems to play fast and loose in accepting campaign donations - on his web site he allowed donors to "choose from among every United Nations member when listing their residence. By contrast, the presidential campaign of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton actually required U.S. citizens residing abroad to fax a copy of their passport before accepting their donations. Federal law prohibits the acceptance of campaign contributions from foreign nationals."

And, this from American Thinker's Rick Moran, a resident of Chicago and the area, "Barack Obama funneled money to friends and family while a Senator and yet as run a campaign trumpeting his opposition to 'corrupt lobbyists.' Ed Morrissey at Hot Air shows Obama "steered $75,000 to a relative who headed up a social services agency." The relative? Michelle Obama's uncle. Morrissey also points to earmarks for Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger and Michelle Obama's employer. You'll remember, too, that Michelle Obama conveniently received a pay raise that more than doubled her salary after Barack Obama was elected U.S. Senator. Coincidence?

Follow the money. It matters.

Contrasting the Presidential Campaigns

"But in politics, everything that goes around comes around." That from an article on CBSNews.com by Dean Reynolds, on the campaign trail. Go there and read it before the Obama flock cries to Les Moonves about it and it is taken down.

We already know the candidate is thin-skinned and has no sense of humor.

It's a fun, light piece contrasting the two campaigns, from a reporter's viewpoint. The behind the scenes glimpse into the character of the candidate, from my take on it. I'm sure that wasn't the intention of the reporter, but that is what I took from it. Pulling back the curtain, an onlooker sees how others are treated. The top of the organization sets the tone, we all know that from the ordinary working world. The same is true in all walks of life.

Remember the Houston Press article I wrote about several months ago, the reporter having moved here from Chicago and covering the up and coming Barack Obama for many years? He provided an interesting look at the Chosen One, for whom the media cheerleads daily. He wrote an anecdote about Obama walking out of the Senate building and tossed a piece of wadded up paper into a trash can. It missed the trash can and he kept walking, glimpsing over his shoulder to see if a staffer would pick it up for him and put it in its place. It was a glimpse of basic arrogance.

The contrast from the reporter's viewpoint on the road with the two campaigns is interesting. The Obama campaign aides are not accommodating of the press in a considerate manner. He says the "Obama aides who deal with the national reporters on the campaign plane are often overwhelmed, overworked and un-informed about where, when, why or how the candidate is moving about."

"The McCain folks are more helpful and generally friendly." "When he is available, John McCain is friendly and loquacious. Obama holds news conferences, but seldom banters with the reporters who've been following him for thousands of miles around the country. Go figure."

Remember the contrast, too, between how McCain treats his Senate staff in Washington and how Obama treats his. McCain pays his women staffers, for instance, much better than Obama does. And, McCain has many more women on his staff. Interesting, no?

And, Obama's campaign plane smells bad.

"Maybe none of this means much. Maybe a front-running campaign like Obama's that is focused solely on victory doesn't have the time to do the mundane things like print up schedules or attend to the needs of reporters."

Presidential Candidate Debate #2 Was A Yawn

The town hall style meeting, that wasn't a town hall meeting debate last night was two hours of my life I'll not get back. It was boring and Tom Brokaw was lame. A town hall meeting doesn't screen questions, pick questions to be asked or limit answering time to one minute. The questioners usually say a bit about themselves, or why they pose the question to the candidate. These robotic questioners simply rose from their seats and read off their questions from index cards.

Obama led off, with his first answer, blaming the 'failed policies of the past 8 years' for the state of the economy now. Just like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It's a lie but that doesn't seem to matter to the Chosen One. Obama has to count on his lies to usher him right on into the White House. The economic policies of the administration led the way to recovery after the monumental hit to our economy on 9/11/01. And, taxes were lowered not raised.

When was the last time a Democrat President, since JFK, cut taxes?

One question last night brought to mind something burned in memory from post 9/11 speeches in the Senate. A C-SPAN junkie, I tune in to congressional proceedings regularly. The question last night was about the unity in spirit in the country after the attacks of 9/11. The mood soon shifted and the questioner wanted to know why Americans weren't asked to make more sacrifices for the war on terror efforts.

The President, not clearly articulated, had a message after the attacks for Americans to try to get back to as normal a routine as possible. Don't let the attacks paralyze the country. He used the term, 'go shopping' as an example. Naturally that was an easy phrase for the Bush deranged to seize upon as criticism. The point was, economic stability was essential to recovery.

That brought back memories of the catalyst of my decision to never again even consider voting for a Democrat for President. Why? I watched with utter disgust as Hillary Clinton stood at the speaking podium on the floor of the Senate and hold up a newspaper and ask, 'what did he (Bush) know and when did he know it'? kind of questions. Never mind the failures of her husband's administration to squash the ever growing threats and terror attacks to our country and our overseas bases and embassies. Then, Ted Kennedy started with a daily rant about unnecessary war and the money it takes to defend ourselves. It points to a very basic difference in policy between the two parties.

Democrats want government to pay for every social program under the sun. Republicans want to provide for a strong national defense in a dangerous world. How did President Clinton pay for his new entitlements and expansion of existing programs? He butchered defense spending. He said it was a peace dividend after the end of the Cold War. He was very wrong. It was a vacation from history. And, for his sainted wonderful economy? It was Republican leadership in the House and Senate that demanded a balanced budget from him. The effort was led by Newt Gingrich, Speaker of the House.

With Obama in the White House and a Democrat Congress - at new all time lows in polling - he will be completely unchecked. Partisan divides will remain just as strong, if not even stronger. Obama has never gone against his party's leadership. Despite his lies of being a bi-partisan candidate, he has no such record.

John McCain can keep the defense department planning healthy and strong without excessive cuts. He has proven a vigilant watchdog in the rewarding of bids. He has a record of stopping excess spending, even in defense spending. He has a bi-partisan record, a very long record.

I will not support a party that plays such slimy games with national defense. The defeatist left has reached new lows in the name calling, and the unwarranted claims against this administration and its policies. Have we been attacked since 9/11? Who would have thought that possible on 9/12/01?

When a defeatist candidate like Obama, who is happy to talk about defeat and surrender but not victory, says we need the money from the war effort to pay for new jobs in our flailing economy, what does he mean? When did government create jobs? Does he plan on public works programming, like FDR? Any monies coming his way will be used for social engineering for the interest groups to which he is beholden. Even Chuck Schumer felt the need yesterday to hold a press conference and whine that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is helping campaign coffers of Republicans, not many Democrats, in this election cycle. What does that tell you? An Obama administration would devastate small businesses, the very backbone of our economy. Does he not realize at least 60% of small business is taxed at individual taxpayer rates?

Obama likes to make much of his talks with Colin Powell. Did you know Powell has only contributed to McCain, not Obama, according to public campaign records?

Economics and national security go hand in hand.

We cannot oppose Barack Obama without also opposing the party he represents, along with Republicans who enable socialist engineering. Barack Obama is not the only socialist who seeks elective office in November.

Why do we oppose Barack Obama? As comedian Jackie Mason recently reminded us, Barack Obama is popular because of the way he looks, the way he talks, and the way he presents himself – but remember that’s his field of expertise. His primary accomplishments include looking good, lying with a straight face, and associating himself with powerful radical activists. When you think about it, he is exactly who un-American liberals want living in the White House. Last week, we argued that Barack Obama is an empty suit. This week, we should admit the suit isn’t completely empty … there are dangerous, anti-American forces at work within the Obama election infrastructure.

It is difficult to fathom the arrogance of someone who, after only 143 days in the U. S. Senate, announces he is ready to assume the mantle of the presidency. And what is it exactly that causes this egotism? It may be that Barack Obama has cleverly orchestrated a sophisticated behind-the-scenes mechanism designed to create conditions favorable to his election. It is a cooperative of followers of (anarchist) Saul Alinsky, busily implementing the so-called “The Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis.” According to The Nation magazine (1966), “The ‘Cloward-Piven Strategy’ seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.”

American Thinker illustrates the workings of this scheme in the following graph; one that demonstrates a well-funded program centered around George Soros’ Open Society Institute, managed by former SDS member Aryeh Neler, and facilitated by the now infamous Associations of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) (Note: Associations … plural). With 28 days to the National Elections, we do seem suddenly plagued with one financial catastrophe after another. Government bureaucracy is definitely overloaded, and society is being pushed into a sense of crisis. Fact, or fiction … the reader can decide for him or her self. But if it is only partially true, the implications present us with unsettling possibilities.

We are used to political organizations, such as the Democratic and Republican Party; but no one outside the radical left can be comfortable with an organization such as this. And if Barack Obama’s ego causes him to believe that he is brighter than most, and that he is ready to assume the mantle of the presidency … he could be correct – no one so far has been smart enough to figure out what is happening behind the scenes. Few mainstream journalists have seriously evaluated Obama’s connection to the anti-American, radical left; not the so-called conservative press, not the Republican Party, and none of the self-styled America-first organizations.

Barack Obama is dangerous for other reasons, too. On the one hand, it is possible to dismiss the junior senator as one of those people with advance degrees, lacking common sense. We can say that he is able to quote Marxist and anarchist rhetoric, but lacks a concomitant real world understanding of the implications of such radical ideas. But there is yet another possibility: Barack Obama knows exactly what he is doing. He knows precisely where he wants to take this country. And no one who understands this man’s motivations can feel comfortable with that perspective.Barack Obama’s radicalism, thinly disguised by his subtle move to the political center-left, clearly repudiates everything America stands for. Conservative Americans may find themselves baffled by a man who professes love for the United States, but who then seeks to institute radical Marxist changes in government, in our courts, and within society … but not if we are watching and listening carefully to the Obama rhetoric. If we have not already dismissed common sense concern for his radicalism, if we have not already accepted Obama’s mild protestations of innocence, then we can recall the words of Jeremiah Wright on the pulpit (“g-damn America”) and we can say, “There is the real Barack Obama.” If we can focus on the obvious, we can draw a direct line between Jeremiah Wright’s church and the Black Racist ideology of the Nation of Islam and its leader, Louis Farrakhan – both of whom engage in the radicalization of the black community, then we know the real man behind the deceptively “empty suit.” The underlying, important question is, “Are Americans Paying Attention?”By pursuing his radical, anti-American agenda, Barack Obama repudiates everything America stands for … and his rejection of our traditional values extends well beyond the sophomoric debate between capitalists and socialists, even if not altogether irrelevant. The United States is a great nation today because of our traditional values. Our forefathers rejected big government, and they were able to raise their families without having to rely on the mistaken notion that “Only a village can raise a child.” They avoided personal indebtedness, preferring to live within their means, and they denounced the idea that government is entitled to their hard-earned income. In the past, we celebrated entrepreneurial spirit; today we demean it. Today, encouraged by the poison of materialism and socialist entitlement programs, America is a nation of debtors; ever the opportunist, Barack Obama and his radical left organization is taking full advantage of our social and individual indolence.

Let us not forget that government largess feeds upon itself. Marxists use government to redistribute wealth; it is the great equalizer ensuring everyone is equally miserable. Obama is using Alinsky’s “community activism” to achieve that power, and socialist ideology to maintain it. We stand in opposition to Barack Obama and his machine politics because we reject Marxist/socialist government. It strips people of their individualism, their dignity, and their will to resist subjugation, but this is the goal of an Obama administration, gift wrapped with empty promises. In our view, Barack Obama is willing to do anything to achieve his objectives, legal or not. We categorically reject him as a new-age messiah, and we stand united against his anti-American programs and policies.

Our question to Obama supporters remains unanswered: “How is it possible to love America, and support Barack Obama?” The horror of radical left/Marxist ideology is Obama’s consistent and unfettered promise for America. It is why we oppose him. It is why we urge our readers to vote NO to Obama and NO to socialists in Congress.

Obama's Judgement by Association

"Barack Obama is a 'decidedly liberal' senator 'who was finding his feet, and then got diverted by his presidential ambitions', according to a frank verdict delivered to Gordon Brown by the British ambassador to the United States." In an article written by Toby Harnden in the Telegraph, that is a quote from an assessment of Obama delivered by Sir Nigel Sheinwald, ambassador in Washington since last year, to Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Sir Nigel said "charges of elitism 'are not entirely unfair' and he is 'maybe aloof, insensitive' at times." Obama betrays a "highly educated and upper middle class mindset."

And, according to the assessment, it is expected that former Senator Tom Daschle will be Obama's Chief of Staff. Tom Daschle? Why does Obama keep reaching to the past while talking about change and a new direction?

Sir Nigel "reiterates the point: "Although he has been a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for four years, and a regular attender of meetings in his first two, there is little Obama track record to refer back to."

Yes, Obama is a master at the covering up of his past.

Have you heard of the Joyce Foundation? (h/t Bookworm). From David Hardy at Pajamas Media , "As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama must demonstrate executive experience, but he remains strangely silent about his eight years (1994-2002) as a director of the Joyce Foundation, a billion dollar tax-exempt organization. He has one obvious reason: during his time as director, Joyce Foundation spent millions creating and supporting anti-gun organizations."

"During Obama's tenure, the Joyce Foundation board planned and implemented a program targeting the Supreme Court. The work began five years into Obama's directorship, when the Foundation had experience in turning its millions into anti-gun "grassroots" organizations, but none at converting cash into legal scholarship." "The plan's objective was bold: the judicial obliteration of the Second Amendment."

Yes, Senator Obama is bold. Interesting article.

Both presidential campaigns are now at slugfest level. For the next 29 days, it's a bloodbath. Both sides are equally guilty and only the blind will argue with that. It is what it is.

However, for either side to claim it is a smear campaign being waged by the opposition is also unserious. Facts are facts. Presenting facts are not smears. The problem is that Obama is a thin skinned narcissist and has run a campaign of fluff and pretty words. Chicago style. Alinsky style. He's up in the polls so his flock is tasting victory. Time will tell.

It matters what the past is of a candidate for the highest office in the land with such a lack of experience and resume. He's the product of the Daley machine in Chicago. His wife brought him into the church of Jeremiah Wright, a church in which she was raised. It was ultimately to launch his political career. Michelle Obama, a choice made by Obama as his wife, is an angry black woman. The very first public quote out of her when Obama announced he would run for president was well, you know, Barack can get shot just going to the gas station as a black man. Nice one for the candidate running as a 'post racial' candidate. And, the black liberation church? Yeah, no race issues there. Obama was married there. Obama chose to baptist his children there.

Obama says he never heard any of the hate speech coming out of that church in all the 20 years he attended. Interesting.

He linked up with William Ayers through his 'community organizing' days. He was introduced to the big dollar non-profit world through Ayers and the Annenberg Challenge. Obama springboarded to the state legislature from there. There he learned all about earmarks for his supporters and $100,000 gazebos.

Next, the U.S. Senate race. Having been properly trained in Chicago, he took legal action against any serious opponents to clear the way for his run. Working within the system - Alinsky style. He was elected and a year and one half later he was running for president. Interesting.

His judgement is a mystery to many voters. Every time he had the choice of establishing connections with others, he chose the most radical, the most hateful. The most corrupt.

His judgement does matter. Now, he says he didn't really know William Ayers. Unbelievable. Well, his flock fell for it all those other times.

We have seen the videos of the Obama youth camp style performances. Indoctrination, Alinsky style. Obama camp for 'community organizers' and getting out the vote. Corrupt get out the vote tactics are already in play in early voting states. The plan is going well.

Alinsky would be proud.

Sarah Palin? You Betcha.

Even after the VP debate, where Joe Biden was caught in 14 bold face lies, Sarah Palin is vastly underestimated. To hear the media in this country, all but the brave outed conservatives say Biden won. What a farce. Palin did more than show up and not make a big boo-boo, she owned her side of the stage. She even caused Joe Biden to channel Al Gore with the exaggerated sighs. Biden, freshly botoxed and coiffed, looked right into the camera and lied about John McCain's record. Did he think, with his long, long, long record in the U.S. Senate - longer than John McCain - that no one would notice his lies? And, Mr. Foreign Policy Expert made a major boo-boo with his whole rewriting of the Hezbollah, Lebanon, Syria connection. He lied about the cost of the war in Afghanistan vs. Iraq, and the remarks by General McKiernan. And he said McCain hadn't been a 'maverick' on Iraq? Really? I think Donald Rumsfeld and G.W. Bush would argue with that. Not to mention his stance on torture and Gitmo. What a maroon.

Biden lied about McCain's health care coverage plan raising taxes on workers. He just happened to leave out the part about tax credits to offset expenses. Biden lied about McCain being soft on regulation - really, Joe? Did you hit your head on the way into the debate? McCain was way out front on the whole approaching disaster of Fannie/Freddie but was brushed off by the Democrats. Any coincidence that McCain has only received under $22,000 from those outfits in all his years serving in Congress yet Obama has received over $126,000 in the short time he has been there?

The arrogance of the progressives (socialists) and the brazen cheerleading of the national media to insure this team of Obama/Biden is elected is a true testament to the decline of common sense in today's political arena. How sad. The least qualified presidential candidate in my lifetime - even Jimmy Carter had been a governor - has used old time socialist 'organizing' techniques and the sheeple continue to chant and clap.

Sarah Palin is bashed as though she was the top of the Republican ticket. John McCain is a man of honor, integrity and humility. Those words are not descriptive of Barack Obama by any stretch of the imagination. Sarah Palin is more qualified than Obama by the varied experience she brings to the ticket.

Sarah Palin, just a couple of years younger than Obama, comes from completely different life experiences. While Obama was enjoying his life at the most exclusive prep school in Hawaii, Palin was attending public schools. While attending her public high school, she became a star athlete. I think this is where her leadership path began. She has the calm determination of an athlete. She doesn't wilt under pressure. She clearly loves competition.

Palin is a happy warrior. Like McCain. She shows grace under pressure and people connect with her. She sounds like America. No western twang to ridicule, no southern accent to mock, no eastern accent to sound snobbish. She sounds like my stepdaughter in Indianapolis.

Palin competed in athletics in high school, beauty pagaents for college scholarship money, married her high school sweetheart ( a man who has native bloodlines), operated a small business with him, joined the PTA, was elected to City Council, a star on the state governing board for energy, elected Mayor of Wasilla, then Governor of Alaska. All while raising 5 children with her husband. She does it all in high heels. And lipstick.

Mock her start in the PTA all you want. As a mom who was active for 12 years in those organizations and a former school president, I can tell you that those committee assignments are not for the faint of heart. I'll bet on a PTA member over a community organizer any day.

So, who's out of touch? The other ticket has a VP candidate who has been in elected office since he was 29 years old. He was brought on the ticket to provide beef to the bones of Obama. Did you notice the irony in Biden's remark that Obama has promised him he'll be in on all the big meetings and listen to his opinions? You mean like the Bush/Cheney relationship so easily ridiculed by these open minded progressives?

Mr. Ordinary American, Biden, had to be corrected by Palin on the "Drill Baby Drill" chant. Biden also lied about his "long time" support of offshore drilling. As he opposed it he called it 'raping' the Outer Continental Shelf', as has been pointed out by Rick Moran at RightWing Nuthouse.

Seems 36 years in the Senate has not been quite enough for Biden to understand the big picture of events. At National Review, Jim Geraghty mentioned that the restaurant Biden referred to in Wilmington that was to show how common a man he is, hasn't been open for decades. "Maybe the senator was too busy conferring with imaginary French liberators of Lebanon to visit his constituency."

Sarah Palin makes me smile. You betcha.

"An American Carol" and Alinsky Lives

Any movie with the lead-in music of Lynard Skynard's "Sweet Home Alabama" is ok with me. I've listened to that song since it was released during my high school days in Atlanta in the 70's.

"An American Carol" is a spoof on the current madness overtaking our national dialogue that is all things 'progressive'. It's not cool to show support our country's military might, or to believe in the goodness of our way of life.

This movie isn't a slapstick guffaw fest like previous spoofs. It's not "Airplane" or those kinds of movies. This movie is funny but with a consistent story line and goes from present to past back to present. And, yes, the ending is happy.

I don't want to talk about specifics because I don't want to tell the story. My husband and I haven't been to a movie in ages but we decided with all the nastiness of this current election season and so many clueless sheeple being lead down the yellow brick road that this would be a pleasant diversion. It was. As a long time fan of Kelsey Grammar, I was not disappointed.

We went to the first showing of the day. We did that because the only theatre showing the movie convenient to us is normally packed by the masses by lunch time. Lots of megaplexes are not showing the movie. And, certainly none of the smaller, boutique style theatres are running it. The liberals will be so relieved.

And it plays well to this disturbing article I read last night. Have you, if you are a loyal Obama supporter, received your invitation to Camp Obama? What is that, you ask? According to this article, true to his hero Saul Alinsky, the Obama has taken 'get in their face' as the campaign slogan.

The pitch, via e-mail alerts reads: "Camp Obama attendees will receive real world organizing experience that will have a direct impact on this election. Graduates of Camp Obama will go on to become Deputy Field Organizers who will lead this campaign to victory in crucial battleground states around the country." "By participating in Camp Obama you'll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he learned that real change happens from the bottom up."

"While the letter neglects to identify the source of that "experience", a slide on a camp blog linked to the Obama Web site offers a clue. Underneath a "Welcome to Camp Obama" banner, a trainer at Obama headquarters in Chicago is seen speaking next to a wipe board with the words "Saul Alinsky" scrawled across it." Alinsky was a Chicago socialist and street agitator. He is referred to as the father of community organizing. Barack Obama calls his Alinskyite experience "the best education I ever had."

According to David Freddoso, a best selling author of a book on Obama, camp trainer Mike Kruglik, "the Alinsky disciple who first taught Obama hardball organizing tactics on the South Side", "was Obama's boss in the '80's", and "now works for the Chicago-based Gamaliel Foundation, which trains and deploys radicals across the country."

"Kruglik once declared Obama "the undisputed master of agitation," according to David Freddoso."

Obama recently told his flock at a rally in Nevada to confront Republicans and "get in their faces." Ah, yes. A true leadership move by the agent of change. Of Marxist change. He was raised by a mother spouting Marxist dogma while married to two Muslim men so it is no wonder that Obama feels so comfortable with all of this.

"Be absolutely ruthless," adds Camp Obama director Jocelyn Woodards, who leads the intensive two-day training course for campers in Chicago."

And, the plan is in play. As the new early voting stunt in Ohio proves, corruption is key in swing states. While the Supreme Court wrestles with this issue, Ohio has approved same day registration and voting during a one week early voting ploy. While Democrats are the first to cry 'disenfranchisement', the issue of transparency is bogus. Democrats have no such wish. This is further proven by the Democrat Chairman of Ohio saying "nothing going wrong in Ohio" while the Republican election observers are being denied access to polling places. Both parties are allowed an equal number of observers but the Democrats are denying them access during this corrupt early voting week.

The two senators from Texas, my state, voted for the bill in in the Senate to stabilize the economy. Call it a bailout, call it a rescue, whatever. Something needed to be done to get the economic conditions in this country going in the right way again.

From Senator Tom Coburn, R-OK, "This is a time in our country when politics needs to go out the window. I would not have written this plan and I would rather not be doing this, but the question is, ow do we help the most Americans, how do we reestablish confidence in the economy, and how do we stabilize things?" Senator Coburn is a strictly conservative leader in all things economic and is known for is objections to government spending.

From Newt Gingrich: "This bailout is a temporary emergency measure to stop a hemorrhaging of credit and the potential collapse of the American and world economy." Gingrich was a very vocal critic of this plan until only recently.

I do not hold the votes against my state's two senators. Senator Hutchinson is not running for re-election. It is a commonly held opinion that she will run for governor next. Senator Cornyn is running for re-election and I still support his campaign.

Sometimes we have to go with our gut. The financial times in which we find ourselves is volatile and new territory. This mess was a long time coming and will take a while to get back on path. This is a bi-partisan problem. Democrats, the very ones now leading the legislative actions, are the same ones back in the days of Clinton denying any problems with sub-prime lending. They were the ones supporting President Clinton ramping up the very legislation begun under the failed presidency of Jimmy Carter which demanded banks lend money to those who probably should not receive a loan, so that they could buy homes. Republicans supported much of that, too. Two years ago, when John McCain pleaded for reform to Fannie and Freddie, he was ignored in the Senate. President Bush has been talking about the problems he foresaw with Fannie and Freddie and other financial institutions but Congress, whether controlled by Republicans or Democrats, failed to act.

There is blame to go around. Barack Obama is second on the list for the politicians benefiting from money from Fannie and Freddie. Senator Dodd is a principal in the investigation of corrupt politicians involved with Countrywide. All of this, over all these years, has become incestuous in Washington, D.C.

I am angry about some of the bits put into the bill. I am angry that Rum producing territories like Puerto Rico will benefit. I am angry that there are demands relating to global warming in there. I am angry that there seem to be all kinds of nonsense - earmarks - in this bill. This is a travesty. What was once a three page paper turned into one consisting over 400 pages. We have the House and the Senate to thank for that.

More oversight is good. Higher FDIC guaranteed insurance is good. Taking out the 20% kickback to corrupt liberal groups like ACORN is good. Taxing businesses on Wall Street, as Obama demanded, is bad. We cannot tax ourselves out of economic difficulties. It worries me that Obama, hoping to be President, simply doesn't understand that.

I know everyone is upset now. That is reasonable. We will get through this, however. We are Americans. We pull together in the face of adversity. We must demand our politicians pull together and stop the insane finger pointing and work for the betterment of the country.

Like the two men of the quotes above, I wish we weren't here. We are. Time to get on with it.

Banned Books and Other Propaganda

This is Banned Books Week. The theme is Celebrating the Freedom to Read. Since 1982, the mission of the event is to remind Americans "not to take this precious democratic freedom for granted." That from the American Library Association web site.

For the second year, "Tango Makes Three", a book about two male penguins caring for an orphaned egg, has the distinction of being the number 1 book on the list for 2007. The reasons are anti-ethnic, sexism, homosexuality, anti-family, religious viewpoint, and unsuited to age group. I ponder, why worry about this book? Did you know it is the nature of penguins for the males to care for the eggs?

One of the nasty lies being circulated about Governor Sarah Palin is that she banned books in Alaska. Even FactCheck.org says this is false. "Actually, Palin never asked that books be banned; no books were actually banned; and many of the books on the list that Palin supposedly wanted to censor weren't even in print at the time, proving that the list is a fabrication. The librarian was fired, but was told only that Palin felt she didn't support her. She was re-hired the next day. The librarian never claimed that Palin threatened outright to fire er for refusing to ban books."

Maybe the Obama campaign supporters who continue to spread this nonsense could read from these books on the brand new Obama Channel. According to Politico, the Obama Channel is on Dish Network. The 'programming' is to run short loops of Obama's biography and campaign commercials.

Maybe the Obama Channel could feature the Sing for Change children. Have you seen this disturbing piece of propaganda at the expense of young children? Over at Incognito's blog, she does a good job of using historical references to using children for political propaganda. The children are sweet, of course, that's the point. They are being used by parents and adults to push a political agenda and that is very wrong. It's bad enough when the American voter is told 'it's for the children' as another corrupt social engineering program is pushed off on the taxpayer. This, however, is a new low.

A music teacher in Venice, California was behind this propaganda video. Obama is supported by the national teacher's union. The candidate of change, relying on standard union support and money. The woman's home was the setting for the performance. She is an Obama fundraiser and the video was promoted on Obama's web site until yesterday morning when it was highly circulated on the Internet. This was professionally done, with the help of the likes of Jeff Zucker and a professional camera crew of many members.

Creepy. Just as the whole swooning masses, speaking to large crowds, chants, fluffy words with no real substance, propaganda by way of children falls right into the mix. Saul Alinsky's protege is following the handbook.

And, finally, to update about a previous post. "A cease and desist from NBC News,the VoteForChange.com ad on Sen. Barack Obama's YouTube channel featuring NBC and MSNBC remains available." An NBC spokeswoman tells TVNewser that YouTube "has agreed to pull down the video and will continue to police it. But the Obama campaign, apparently, isn't budging." "We have engaged the Obama campaign on the legal front and demanded that they stop using the ad." "To date they have not complied. Their response was to put a tagline at the end of the ad. However, that is not good enough, and we continue to demand they cease and desist using this outrageous ad."

"The tagline reads "NBC and MSNBC did not cooperate in the making of this video" and flashes for three seconds at the end of the ad." That from MediaBistro.com.

And, even Homer Simpson is a Barack Obama supporter. On November 2, two days before the national election, an episode will air wih Homer casting his vote for John McCain then as he changes his mind to vote for Obama, he isn't able to make the change on his voting machine. So, it's the whole lie about Republicans stealing elections again over 'rigged' voting machines.

That's entertainment. Don't the Simpson's live in Ohio? The state that is having an unprecedented week of register and vote on the same day, focused on college kids? The Democrat elected officials pushed it through and the local offices are on the ground making sure the kids get to the polling spots. I'm sure that's all above board.

Senator Cornyn Urges Military Absentee Ballot Reform

"Voting is a privilege guaranteed by our Constitution and ensured by our men and women in uniform. Yet, for far too many military personnel stationed away from home, it is difficult or even imposible to exercise their right to vote.

Nearly, 1,000,000 military and overseas absentee ballots were requested for the 2006 election , but only one-third of them were actually conunted. That means that more than 660,000 interested military voters were ultimately not able to have their voices heard. This is unacceptable.

We must protect the rights of our soldiers - and their families - to vote and have that vote counted. Help a loved one or firend make sure they are registered, their ballot application is processed, and their vote is delivered and counted. Democrat, Republican, Independent...party affiliation or personal views are irrelevant. We ought to make certain they are able to vote.

This web site is a portal to great information that will make it easier for our men and women n uniform to do taht which they have worked so hard to make so simple for the rest of us. They often put their lives on the line to guarantee the freedoms that makes this country exceptional, and they deserve every oportunity to exercise the basic right to vote themselves. Senator John Cornyn is running for re-election in Texas. I support his re-election.

Other than putting up this web site in support of our country's military stationed overseas, he has also done the following to insure efforts to reform the current way that military votes are handled from overseas:

* Senator Cornyn introduced the Military Voting Protection Act of 2008. This reduces delays and cuts red tape.
* A reform measure to be successful in this ballot counting is for the Department of Defense to be required to collect and provide express shipping of ballots.
* Senator Cornyn sent a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey urging protection of military voting rights.

For too long, the military's right to cast a ballot from overseas assignments and have their votes be counted has been treated haphazardly at best. Whether intentionally or not, many votes of those serving our country in foreign lands, protecting our right to vote, have been ignored. It is way past time for this reform.

NASA at 50

Today is the 50th anniversary of NASA. The space agency began operations on October 1, 1958. Here in Houston, Johnson Space Center is home to mission control. Soon a transition will be made from launching the space shuttle to a new moonship in 2010. Currently 16,500 people are employed at Johnson Space Center. Estimates are between 600 and 2,400 people will lose jobs. Activities at the international space station will slow by 2016. The current number of astronauts is 120 and will likely reduce to fewer than 90.

According to an article in the Houston Chronicle, "The Johnson Space Center has always been about development and operating human spacecraft, planning missions, training flight crews and flight control. That's not going to change," said NASA's Wayne Hale, a 30 year agency veteran. "If anything, there is more work to do than the workforce in the area is capable of doing."

"Earlier this year, Hale left his job as shuttle program manager to help the space manager to help the space agency ease the transition to the moon project as one of NASA's top strategic planners."

"The future development projects assigned to Johnson include a lunar lander, moon shelters and rovers. Engineers at Johnson will also lead the development of equipment to mine the moon for oxygen, hydrogen and other resources to produce water, breathable air and, perhaps, rocket fuel."

Another recent article deals with the $630 billion budget the President received, which included $20.2 billion next year for NASA, a $2.6 increase of what the Bush administration requested. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, all but a declared candidate for Governor in the upcoming race, said,"With other countries moving forward with manned spaceflight, the stakes are too high for America to lose its edge as the world leader in space exploration."

And this - Monday NASA postponed a mission to overhaul the Hubble Space Telescope until February, at the earliest. "The delay, officials said, was needed by engineers to prepare a spare data formatter, similar to a part that failed aboard the Hubble, the official said."

"The flight, which will feature five spacewalks, had been set for an Oct. 14 liftoff from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Last week, NASA postponed the mission by four days so the astronauts and controllers could make up training sessions that were missed when Johnson Space Center was closed for 11 days because of Hurricane Ike. Astronauts have not flown to the Hubble since March 2002."

Fighting Smears and Gwen Ifill

An interesting nugget of information appears on the Fight the Smears website of Barack Obama. FactCheck.org is verifying that Barack Obama was once a citizen of Kenya. Obama had Kenyan citizenship until 1982.

From the Obama website: "When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom's dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.'s children."

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4, 1982."

This was brought up due to the confusion over Obama's refusal to release his original birth certificate. A Clinton supporter, Phil Berg, in Philadelphia filed a lawsuit over it. On August 21, just four days before the beginning of the Democrat convention, the lawsuit was filed as a method of removing Obama from the November ballot, with the specific claim he was born in Kenya and not the U.S.

This is brought to light by NewsBusters. A day after the lawsuit was filed, a federal judge denied a motion of a temporary restraining order that Berg requested. Berg's lawsuit demands Obama release the long version of his original birth certificate, not the one currently on the website, thought by many to be a photoshopped version.

So, rather than cooperate and release the full birth certificate, the candidate claiming to be all about transparency has forced his smears website to bring his Kenyan citizenship into the mix. It's an interesting fact laid out there now.

Remember when the Democrats tried to make the case that John McCain was not eligible to be President since he was born in Panama while his father was stationed there?

The moderator for the VP debate this week is Gwen Ifill. The PBS anchor is not qualified to be the moderator but that doesn't matter. Ifill is as in the tank for Obama as any of the media, and this story proves it. She has a book coming out on January 20, 2009 - inauguration day - called "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama." Her publisher has wasted no time putting out YouTube clips as Ifill gushes over Obama and his speechwriter, Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts.

You may remember Ifill recently published a slobbering article for Essence magazine titled, "The Obamas: Portrait of an American Family."

From an article here: "During the Republican National Convention, the PBS ombudsman fielded numerous complaints about Ifill's coverage of Sarah Palin's speech. Wrote Brian Meyers of Granby, Conn.: "I was appalled by Gwen Ifill's commentary directly following Gov. Sarah Palin's speech. Her attitude was dismissive, and the look on her face was one of disgust. Clearly, she was agitated by what most critics view as a well-delivered speech. It is quite obvious that Ms. Ifill supports Obama as she struggled to say anything redemptive about Gov. Palin's performance. I am disappointed in Ms. Ifill's complete disregard for journalistic objectivity."

Playing the race card - a tactic so frequent by the Obama campaign while accusing the Republicans of doing it - Ifill said, "No one's ever assumed a white reporter can't cover a white candidate." Well, no, but it's not Ifill's color, as she well knows. It's her lack of professionalism and her lack of reporting skills.

Ifill has no business moderating the Biden/Palin debate. She expects Obama to be the next President and she is waiting in the wings to cash in. She clearly now has a commercial interest in the outcome of this election. She should no longer be a moderator and she should step down from her job at PBS.
